Jacob has been diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. He struggles with feelings of loneliness, disconnection, emptiness, preoccupation with his image, a dependence on grandiosity and being "higher up" on the hierarchy, not being able to control "bad" behavior, a lack of lasting friendships. He is also intent on improving, forthright about his condition, and persistently trying to get information about the reality of the experience of having NPD out there (in the face of a lot of highly negative, stigmatizing (mis)information on the internet).
